The first part of the film features Amma’s early years: Mata Amritanandamayi. The second part documents Amma’s incredible work as she pours herself out to all like a river of love.

Her difficult childhood is shown in a lively reconstruction filmed in her fisherman’s family in a village in Kerala. The viewer is conducted on an extraordinary journey of one of the most incredible personalities of our times. Amma’s senior disciples provide the commentary and relate their own experiences.

Amma, now 64, is still well and continues to share her bountiful love with millions of people from her base in Kerala.

Introduction at Labia: “River of Love” will be introduced by Jane Parkfeld (Mira) who convenes local meetings of Amma Devotees in Cape Town. Mira lived at Amma’s Amritapuri ashram in Kerala, India for 19 years.
