"When all human help fails, there is then room for the Divine."
- Ignatius Loyala the guiding spirit of the casa.

Says John Homewood who will introduce the film and who has visited the casa of John of God in Brazil: “Many people are seeking healing at this time; be it physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. In the world there are some special individuals who have been blessed with amazing healing powers. João Teixeira de Faria, Aka John of God in Brazil is one of those. While having been credited with healing presidents, film stars and thousands and thousands of everyday people from around the world, all for no charge, there are many who do not experience anything miraculous at his healing centre in rural Abadiania.

Having visited John of God in 2009, and spent 2 weeks experiencing the comings and goings at the Casa de Dom Inacio with a medical doctor and a group of patients, I am of the view that process of healing is more complex than merely the removal of physical ailments and afflictions from the physical body on the will of the ego. Healing must first take place at a deep soul level before the physical will respond. While gifted healers such as John of God can facilitate miraculous healing, he cannot remove anything that the patient, at a deep subconscious level, is not really ready to release yet.”

David Unterberg (Director, Producer)

AMAZON REVIEW 5.0 out of 5 stars Captures the Experience
By Julie Saunders on July 20, 2011 (verified purchase)

This film is the best I have yet seen on John of God and the healing work that is done at the Casa de Dom Inacio. It is a skilful, artistic, professional, engaging and sensitive piece of film making. The film opens with the journey of Ignatius of Loyola, the guiding spirit of the Casa. It is a wonderful metaphor for the spiritual journey that one takes in travelling to see John of God. Through interviews with people, including two articulate and initially sceptical medical doctors who visit the Casa, and mediums working there, the openness, vulnerability, intelligence, faith, work, wisdom and love available in this sacred place are evident. The natural beauty of rural Abadiania, Brazil comes across powerfully in the photography. The soundtrack blends with the imagery, creating a graceful sense of flow.

The film ends with Ignatius leaving his sword on the altar and the voiceover: "When all human help fails, there is then room for the Divine."
