'Aluna' refers to a cosmic consciousness within nature.
How did we lose our connectedness, our knowledge,
our experiential understanding of our Mother Earth?
A desperate wake-up call from the Kogi.

Twenty five years ago an influential BBC film From The Heart of the World: The Elder Brothers’ Warning brought global attention to the Kogi people of Colombia - a remote and ancient South American civilisation - who were determined to caution us about environmental damage to the earth. The Kogi are a true ‘lost civilisation’, who regard themselves as the guardians of the earth.

Having remained hidden for centuries, the Kogi surfaced with an environmental message that was ahead of its time, a warning about how we, their ‘younger brother’, were destroying the ecosystem by plunder. But the Kogi have continued to see frightening changes to their homeland.

The Kogi maintain that their warning was rooted in their own scientific knowledge. They are sure that unless we can hear and learn from what they know, we are on the road to disaster. In Colombia they begin to layout out a gold thread to illustrate their understanding of the hidden connectedness in nature. The Kogi show how the thread leads to an apocalyptic landscape but they still retain the hope that we can learn to care for the world properly.

Following the movie, Regine Veraguas will give a presentation about the high service her spiritual mentor, Mama Koginka Kamaru Xue, a full fledged Kogi Mama, has been doing balancing, re-harmonising and protecting the integrity of nature in America, Colombia and globally for the Planet. She will also speak about her service in South Africa through the Koginka Sewaluna Foundation Afrika NPC.

Regine Veraguas is a Healing Practitioner, Holistic Educator and Project Manager for the Koginka Sewaluna Foundation Afrika NPC, for Mother Earth's wisdom preservation.
